Ken Irving has taken over as the Regional Director of BAM Construction in Scotland. Mr Irving has been with the company for 17 years and was previously a construction director overseeing major projects across the region. BAM Construction has offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow and it was recently listed by Construction News as the largest contractor in Scotland over the past 12 months. Mr Irving said, ‘These are challenging times in our industry and for the region, but I’m very proud to be leading the company at a time when we are completing some prestigious projects, including the Glasgow Museum of Transport, Anniesland College, the Scottish National Portrait Gallery and Easter Bush Research Centre and have a strong forward order book of equally prominent projects such as the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh the Renfrew Building Better Communities framework and the Fife Council schools for the future.’ The business has been established in Scotland since 1960, and became part of major European construction group, Royal BAM, in 2002. Mr Irving replaces former Director Ken McAlpine who has retired.
