BAM Construct UK has made two senior appointments. David Cotton becomes Director of Business Development and Nitesh Magdani becomes Director of Sustainability.
As Director of Business Development, David Cotton will work within BAM Construct UK and with other Royal BAM Group companies to develop growth opportunities. He will be responsible for strengthening relationships with clients and ensuring that BAM Construct UK shapes its services to deliver maximum benefit and value to them. He will also co-ordinate BAM’s regional business development managers. He said: ‘Our approach has always been non-contractual and client focussed. We recognise that there are opportunities for growth in making more of the integrated services we can offer clients in every aspect of managing their built assets: from project initiation through to design, construction and maintaining and managing completed buildings.’ David Cotton was previously BAM’s Sector Development Director, and before that was a business development manager, giving him an excellent understanding of how to match BAM’s capabilities with clients’ needs. He has many years of experience with BAM, being particularly associated with innovative practices relating to how the company hands over completed buildings and how it partners with clients.
Nitesh Magdani has been appointed as BAM’s first Director of Sustainability. He was previously BAM’s Head of Sustainable Design. He will be responsible for continuing to develop BAM’s sustainability expertise in every aspect of designing, constructing, managing and maintaining buildings and for developing a consultancy service to clients. Nitesh Magdani joined BAM in 2011 from architectural practice Aukett Fitzroy Robinson for whom he was the lead architect on the flagship sustainable store at Cheshire Oaks for Marks and Spencer Plc. He says of his new role: ‘BAM has real expertise in realising the true benefits of sustainable buildings for the health and wellbeing of their occupants, in reducing energy, resource and compliance costs, and minimising negative impacts on the environment. I will be leading our central sustainability team to help our business develop its expertise further and to make it available to our customers.’ Nitesh featured in Building Magazine’s Sustainability Top 50 talent list 2012.
David Cotton and Nitesh Magdani take up their positions with effect from January next year. Last month BAM appointed Andrew Pryke as Managing Director of Design.
