BAM Construction has won the £16million contract to construct the Isaac Newton Building for the University of Lincoln, the company has announced.
After a competitive tendering process, BAM was selected to construct the major new academic facility on the University’s Brayford Pool Campus. The company will create a four-storey extension to Lincoln’s existing Engineering Hub to form the new building, named in honour of one of the world’s greatest ever scientists.
The expanded facility will have a floor area of 7,500 square metres and house a range of state-of-the-art facilities for teaching and research.
As well as specialist and general teaching spaces, and a 500-seat lecture theatre, there will be a social atrium space, including a canteen.
