BAM is set to begin work revitalising the 135-year-old Victoria Building at Blackburn College, to create a dynamic hub for adult learning, advanced skills, and community activities in the heart of Blackburn town centre.
The Department for Education has contributed £25m from its Further Education Capital Transfer Fund to repair, restore, and reinvigorate the building.
The flagship project will see the Grade II listed heritage building, which was constructed in 1888, brought back to life as a central feature of Blackburn’s Town Centre Master Plan.
The project includes constructing additional lecture theatres and converting offices back into their original uses as spacious classrooms and meeting areas.
