Gold winners included Keith Walton Limited from Burnley, Lancashire (for environment, health and safety) Stockport-based Sound Interiors Limited (quality) Balfour Beatty Engineering Services which has a UK-wide presence (for innovation) and to Leeds-based Metallic Fabrications (overall winner).

Other firms to win silver or bronze awards included Oldham’s Allied Scaffolding, Flintshire’s Kingspan Limited, St Helen’s groundworks firm Murraywood Construction, Stockport’s Active Flooring Ltd and Ashton under Lyme’s TMJ Joinery Ltd.

BAM recently won a £71 million office development known as One Spinningfields for Allied London, and in Liverpool is delivering the Materials Innovation Factory for Liverpool University and Aintree Hospital’s new Trauma Centre. It also develops property and manages the facilities in many of the buildings it creates. It was the developer and contractor behind St Peter’s Square Stockport and the Metro building in Manchester.
